The planet is running out of time!
I'm so sick of hearing bleeding heart environmentalists and barely literate starlets spouting doom-and-gloom epithets like, we're killing the Earth and The planet is running out of time. Not because I don't agree that we have royally fucked up this big blue ball we call home or that climate change is a very serious issue; I completely agree with all that. My problem is that people are seriously missing the point.
We're not killing the Earth. The Planet is not running out of time. It's ourselves that we're killing. It is we who are running out of time. The third rock from the Sun was around for billions of years before we got here, and it will be around for billions of years after we've destroyed the delicate balance of the ecosystem that is so vital to our frail existence. Hell, once we're gone, the planet will have plenty of time to self-right itself and try all over again with a new dominant species.
Wake up, people. Mother Earth is healthy as an ox. Humankind, on the other hand, is slouching toward Bethlehem -- on the fast track to extinction and not looking back.
Humans are the new dinosaurs.
