We had endless discussions about it a while ago when it started happening, but of course there will be people coming in who weren't here at that time.
[Ah good, someone got to the javascript thing while I was explaining that I couldn't remember what it was]
Since I recently changed browsers and have been too lazy to bother opening up firefox again (it takes aaages and keeps freezing, which is why I changed), and copy the code over to chrome, what I've been doing is clicking on the url and adding "&7" or something immediately after the page number, so

And then adding more numbers each time I want to refresh again. The javascript generates a random number each time. The important thing is that the numbers are different, so you'll get a new page not a cached one.
In individual threads, that look like

to start off with, I replace everything from the # onwards with the &number, so

IIRC, it started in January. We seem to have this conversation about once every quarter. Maybe we should add the various solutions to the meme acronyms thread.

A civic-minded nonnie could post a link at the start of each post? I wondered about getting spanky to add it to the top, but that area might be getting a bit unwieldy.
