There's an academic named Ralph Williams who's versed in Greek and Aramaic and Latin and other useful hunter languages, so this entire story I was imagining your Ralph Williams and the real Ralph Williams as one and the same. XD Though I doubt(?) the name twinning was intentional, I think it's perfect

I liked all the little details in this, all the characters and their relationships felt true and I felt for each of them, their strange little dysfunctional family all trying to find their place when everything's changed.
