...guh. There are basically no words I can use to describe this beauty. The last three chapters were already awesome enough, but this one--this one! I cannot find the correct words to describe this, because it is just that awesome. It's incredibly fucked up for not!Cas is screwing up Dean in all his weak spots, and I think it really shows how Cas has become such a big weakspot for Dean, just as he is to Cas himself.
So yeah... just keep up the awesome as always, guys. I can't wait to see what Death is up to as well, with his appearence.
Thanks dude! It sorta worries me, the kick I've gotten from writing Godstiel because I just did not want the show to go there. But of course this is different because we're following it through and saving the nerd angel. PLUS GODSTIEL IS HOT.
This is just the starter for something so epic next week, I can't even…
So thrilled you enjoyed it, and sincere apologies it posted late - LJ screwed us big time. :|
lmao its my desire to write Godstiel one day too, when I actually have a proper idea for it - I actually think its kind of... interesting, the way the show propelled him there. I describe it fondly as him jumping off the cliff while singing in falsetto. And yes, Godstiel really is hot when the time comes.
No worries, its cool! It turned up just in time during my class break, so I had something to do then. XD Also - whoo, epic things! They are always something I look very forward too. :3
Yeah, IA it was interesting even if it sorta broke my heart too. But to go there and then not follow up… man. What a fucking waste of what could have been such a damn intense storyline. I just will never understand that. So damn queird. With things how they are now, they might as well have desouled Cas and sent him off somewhere to convalesce. Just knowing he was still in the brothers' universe would have been enough to keep me watching…
Dear God this 'verse is glorious and perfect and heartbreaking and I am just blown away. I can't even, I can't even. Can someone please point the writers of the show to this, please? They might learn something.
See this, Sera? This is my canon, now.ninjapsammeadOctober 28 2011, 01:53:26 UTC
Oh god. Oh god. First I teared up (Jo), then I teared up again (pamela), then I cheered a little (at mention of Adam, you're totally going into the Pit, aren't you, oh god oh god) then I cheered (when they kissed) then I instantly gasped in shock and now here we are. All the motherfucking feelings.
Amen to unstoppablei. We were pissed at first, as a fandom, at the idea of Godstiel, but we came to a place of acceptance over the summer, of recognizing how thematically bad ass it would be to have the sort of things you guys have been writing onscreen with Godstiel, and then we get stupid, pathetic Leviathan bullshit instead. This chapter alone has made me feel a wider spectrum of emotions than Supernatural has in weeks.
Bless you for mentioning Adam, bless you for the vivid detail with which you show us the roots of Dean's guilt, BLESS YOU for sticking to the tenets of FUCKING FREE WILL AND SPITTING IN THE FACE OF EVIL.

Totally agree on your points about Godstiel. we came to terms with it, and they totally short changed us over it. I'm glad we are getting the extended episode arch that this story line deserves

Dude! We're humbled, honest, by your kind words and by the support of everyone who is showing up to read. I feel very much like you: had a very hard time dealing with what happened to the nerd angel, and was forcibly dragged, kicking and screaming, to a place of just having to deal. So to then not have the storyline play out was very frustrating. Because it could have been so damn good. It would have given the brothers a unifying cause and preserved the heart of the show to have seen them save their friend. And honest, I still do retain some hope of seeing that - but until then, this canon is a great place to play.
It was such a pleasure to co-write with one of my favorite D/C ficcers too! XD
But heck, if you thought this was good, I just cannot wait to see what y'all think of next week's chapter… 17,000+ words of total freaking awesomeness courtesy of swordofmymouth and tiptoe39.

Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!!! You have all taken the words right out of my mouth! This chapter in the story really is where I was hoping the show would go even if they would never have shown Cas and Dean sharing a kiss. Disappointment abounds but this beautiful story gives me hope. FANTASTIC JOB!
So much about this to love :) And it's hard to say what is better -- the building tension between Dean and Cas or the finely wrought sequences Godstiel creates to tempt Dean. Each element works in harmony with the other. It couldn't have been easy, but you two make it look like it was!
Hey you! I need to hit you back an email, but I've been nose to the grind with this. Yup: we're real happy with how it turned out, and it was kinda by accident! I was so damn blocked coming off the back of the BB, hadda really force myself to tackle this. Sat down one night and hammered out a ton of really random stuff (the Jo section), intending to return and flow it all together as proper, linear prose - but when I revisited it the next day it just seemed to work really well as written in that staccato way, to suggest Dean's confusion over wtf was going on. And my co-writer agreed and did the same for her Pam section, and bada-bing!
I'm rubbing my hands together in glee at having your draft of C5 to read… I'll check it out tomorrow night. XD
Ah, don't worry about emails, I just ramble here and there! :) The staccato was perfect, especially with the horror/tension/suspense of Jo's section coupled with the gruesomeness -- it was great watching it all come together.
Sorry for the lateness of my own reply, I just got out of work and was a bit struck dumb by your support for mine and Tiptoe39's upcoming ep/chapter in your comments, so I will humbly say thank you and that you have a very generous heart . . .
Those flashback was stunning. Love the new twist on the canon mythology of Michael and his vessel. My heart was pounding in every new flashback, and that last one nearly killed me.
Thanks muchly! It has been so fulfilling hammering out this overall plot, using show's existing canon (if only the show did) and also biblical mythology/prophecy. Now it's seeded, it's going to be lurking there in the background, and will play a really important role in how this AU pans out...
We're so thrilled you enjoyed it! Check back for something so damn awesome next week you will not know what hit you… XD
Thanks so much for the feedback; we're really pleased you enjoyed! The mythology aspect was really just planting the seeds -- it's definitely going to play out a lot more in the following chapters, so stay tuned!
