Actually, it was easier for him to keep an eye on Sam if he was close by; besides, Dean was quite proud of being able to take care of him all by himself.
His little brother reciprocated by turning Dean into the center of his universe.
“Don't you mind being your snotty little brother's keeper?”
Actually, Dean had never been Sam's keeper. They had each other's back, they kept each other sane, and one would have never functioned without the other.
“Well? Don't you?”
Dean grins.
“Nah.”
