Summary: Dean does his big brotherly duty and introduces Sam to skin mags.
They were living in a run down apartment while John was gone on a hunt. Sam had just finished his homework at the kitchen table. He grabbed a drink and wondered where Dean had gone to. He hadn’t come through the kitchen for anything while Sam was studying.
Sam opened their bedroom door and saw Dean intently looking at something. He was so engrossed in it that he didn’t hear Sam open the bedroom door or walk over to him. He peeked over Dean’s shoulder.
“What are you looking at?” Sam blurted out.
Dean jumped and closed his magazine. “What are you thinking walking up on me like that? What do you want?”
“What are you looking at?”
Dean knew that Sam wasn’t going to let it go. He reluctantly opened his magazine to reveal that it was a skin mag.
“Where did you get that?”
“Store down the street,” Dean answered. “Gees, Sammy. It’s not like it’s abnormal to have skin mags at my age--or your age even. Wanna see one?”
Sam’s ears turned bright red.
Dean rolled so he was on one side of his bed. He reached under the other side of the mattress and pulled out some more magazines. “Pick one.”
Sam just looked at them lying there.
“Just pick one, Sammy,” Dean was amused at Sam’s hesitation. “They don’t bite.”
Sam picked one from the top of the pile and sat down on his bed. He slowly flipped the pages. He didn’t say anything as he looked at the pages.
“So, what do you think?” Dean looked over at him. “Swallow your tongue, Sam?” Dean was grinning.
“No, just wondering what Dad would do if he knew you had these.”
“Hell, Sam. He gave me my first one. Pick one out and it can be the start of your collection.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. A little companionship while we’re on the road.”
