Summary: Mary can’t understand John’s reluctance to name their baby after John’s father.
John knew he’d gone too far, calling Mary a nagging wife. Her arms were folded on top of her baby bump as she glared at him. He had to resist smiling; she looked so beautiful and he loved that she cared so much.
“Look, Mary…”
“Don’t you ‘look, Mary’ me! You’re the one being unreasonable.”
“Okay, you want the truth? My dad went to work one night when I was a kid and never came home.”
“Oh, John, I’m so sorry, I….”
“It’s okay, sweetheart. But I’d like us to name him Dean, not Henry.”
“I’d like that too, John.”
