I haven't been with this community for very long but I love the fun and inclusive spirit and the wide variety of challenges. My very first contribution was ART (for the Big Splat) which, if you don't know me, is not at all my thing - I'm a writer, not an artist! - so that was really fun and took me right out of my comfort zone, especially since Candygramme also only hectored asked me a day before the deadline, so I had to scramble to get it done! Since then I've challenged myself with a few drabbles, which as everyone knows are not nearly as easy as they look; and poetry! Which I never thought I'd end up writing for Supernatural, but here we go. What's next? Candygramme suggests interpretative dance, but I think I'll spare you all that ;)
Being so new, I haven't read many of the past entries (I must go browse some time!) but two of my definite recs must come from last year's Crowley's Christmas Challenge. 'A Crowley Carol' by ellerkay is absolutely superb, entertaining, spot-on in character and such a seamless crossover between SPN and Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' (Crowley himself as Scrooge is just perfect). She wrote it for midnightsilvers, and I'm so glad they got such a terrific gift, because their 'Christmas Comic' for me is also fantastic: not just one but three pages of vibrant, outstanding artwork which tells its own mini-story, such a sweet and funny expose of Dean being good to his Baby. But that exchange was full of fabulous treats, so if you haven't already, you should go check out the tag and enjoy them all!
Happy 10th birthday spn_bigpretzel, and here's to many more to come! 🥳🪅🥨
