"Sonovabitch," swore Jody, clutching her arm. "That wendigo got me good."
"That cut looks nasty, that's gonna need stitches," said Donna, inspecting the wound.
"At least, I managed to get in the last word," Jody added, hefting her machete emphatically only to grimace with pain.
"Come on," ordered Donna. "Let's clean that up; you never know where those critters have been."
Donna set to sewing. Jody winced but then nodded approvingly once she was done in almost no time at all.
"I've gotta say," she chuckled, "I don't think I've ever been embroidered before, but that's some damn fine cross-stitch."
