Jody loved her girls, but it was great to have the house to herself for a few hours. It was Christmas Eve, they’d gone to a party and she was going to watch movies and eat pizza.
The doorbell rang and she opened it wide, surprised to see Sam standing there, holding a pizza box.
“Sam!” she exclaimed. “New job?”
“I kinda intercepted the delivery kid, hope you don’t mind?”
“Nope, just surprised to see you,”
“I was passing by; wanted to wish you Merry Christmas.”
“That’s real sweet of you, honey.”
Sam leaned down to kiss her.
“Merry Christmas.”
