[Bobby realized several things at once and none of them were good. 1. He was no longer in the Taj Mahal, he knew he hadn't left it or anything yet, after all he'd only just finished writing his last journal...ever. Press was supposed to come to collect him soon to say goodbyes, so he had no desire to leave. But, here he was

Bobby broke into a grin, he had thought he'd seen his friend for the last time, but apparently not. What if this was some kind of Solara thing after all.]
Alder! It's good to see you.

I am glad to see you, too. I was beginning to think I was alone here! This is a very strange territory, Pendragon. [He was rather relieved to see Bobby, not only because he was a close friend, but because Bobby was the Lead Traveler. He always knew what to do. He always had a plan, and right now, Alder had nothing.]

How long have you been here Alder? What is this place?
[He understood that time worked differently between worlds sometimes but from the way Alder was speaking he'd had enough time to actually explore this place...meaning he'd been here more than just a few minutes.]

I have been learning all that I can since I arrived here. It is a place called 'Splendor.' Apparently it is a place of magic. There are many objects, like what you brought to Denduron. And...wishes. They come true here. [Yeah, he probably sounds nuts, but it's true. Again, he pauses, frowning now.]
Also, we...cannot go home. We are stuck here. I have searched for a flume, but have yet to find one. The people here, they all come from different territories. But none are Travelers. It's peaceful here, too. There is no violence, no problems, nothing. I am not sure what Saint Dane could be doing here....

Those weren't the things that bothered Bobby the most. What bothered Bobby was the fact that Alder still talked about Flumes and, even worse, about Saint Dane. Those were things that were gone. But Alder was talking as if Saint Dane were still around...as if they hadn't just finished everything. The worry showed clearly on Bobby's face]
Okay, hold on. Why are you trying to find Saint Dane? He's gone. We stopped him and everything was set back onto the right course.
[He couldn't say it was fine, because it wasn't, but it was on the path to getting better and that's what mattered.]

W-What? We...did? But...you... [Blinking, and also just now noticing....Bobby did look older. How had he not noticed that right away..? But how? Bobby had just been on Zaada, with him and Loor.]
Were you not on Zaada with us just before coming here? [He had a feeling he already knew the answer, but he didn't get how that was possible.]

No. I was on Third Earth. We were all getting ready to---[Wait, there was only one time he could really remember Alder and Loor on Zadaa. Could this Alder be from the past? It seemed too radical to believe, nothing like THIS had happened before. Sure, they traveled to different times but the Travelers were ALWAYS on sync with each other, right? Still, if that was the case then how much could he really tell Alder. There was no WAY Alder was going to believe him on half of the stuff about Solara. Bobby bit his lower lip and then sighed, shaking his head.]
Alder, I think we might have a problem here...one bigger than you can realize. I'm not sure how much I can tell you. See, that training on Zadaa, with you and Loor, that happened a few years ago...for me.

[Well, looks like he thought wrong. But then it really clicked in his mind what Bobby had told him just moments before.]
We really stopped him? Saint Dane, I mean.

He took a deep breath, there had to be an explanation for all of this. It wasn't Saint Dane, not even he could pull this off. And he was dead!
Bobby did manage a strained smile though]
Yeah, Alder, we stopped him. [he paused] This has never happened before though, I don't know if I can tell you much without messing things up for all of us.

[He returned the strained smile, still trying to wrap his mind around all of this.
Bobby was here! That was definitely great. Especially now that he knew they had stopped Saint Dane. In all honesty, that had been the main thing keeping him from enjoying this place. He had been worried about his duties as a Traveler. Not being able to leave was definitely not cool when you were one of a handful of people destined to stop a demon.]

Yeah, I can only imagine. I'm surprised you believe me actually.

I just...do not understand how you are from the future. But the people here said it is possible. [A lot of normally impossible stuff was happening here.] The flumes never worked like this, did they?
Reply
[Here Bobby shrugged, he decided not to go into what happened to the flumes] They always put us where we needed to be, when we needed to be there. I'm not sure this is connected to that though, you said you couldn't find a flume and neither of us knew this place even existed which would make it hard to get to.
At any rate, you said it's peaceful. So, it doesn't seem like we'd even be needed against our will. Maybe this is like a vacation...but that doesn't explain why we're from different points in time...although trust me after what we just went through I think all of us could use a vacation. [Of course, that vacation was supposed to be eternity in Solara.]

He paused, nodding as he listened to what Bobby had to say.] I was not even near a flume before I came here, so it had to have been by another force.
[To his final remark, Alder couldn't help but crack a smile.] A vacation sounds nice. And if it is like you say, then our job is complete. We deserve it.

I think we should look into that...I mean...a force powerful enough to pull Travelers out of their right time has to be pretty important.
[Bobby decided against ruining the moment by pointing out that Alder's job might not be complete. He was from an earlier point, long before they had defeated Saint Dane. Did that mean if they ever sorted this out that Alder would be put back to his right time? Bobby wasn't sure he had the answer...this was starting to sound more like comic book material and less like real life....then again his real life was pretty far fetched as it was.]
Definitely. So, any idea what sort of vacation packages this place offers? I've been wanting a day at the beach for ages now.
[Did Bobby care that the joke would probably be lost on Alder? Not really]
