So, as mentioned on the CR meme, I have a idea-in-progress of something I want to do for Leoben, since I've been wanting to put up a log in which Leoben projects. Projection is an ability that Cylons have, and to use the description from the BSG wiki:
Projection is a Cylon ability that allows them to consciously induce an extraordinarily realistic hallucination in the form of an artificial environment around themselves, which they can choose to share with other Cylons.
Cylons use this ability as a way to detach themselves of reality, and experience the world around them as they wish to, rather than how it is, serving as a psychological comfort.
To make a long story short, as much as Leoben likes the Splendor environment, he is a cylon and is kind of missing home, so he'll be projecting a Basestar, specifically the hybrid's room, in an attempt to gain some spiritual guidance.
So, during that time, I figure one of several things could happen if people choose to interact with him, and this is where the idea-in-progress comes in, since it's not so much plot I'm aiming for as it is CR building, but plot can perhaps grow out of it somehow.
The first is that it might ping people who can use magic and/or illusions, since it is kind of like an illusion. I don't think that humans can experience projections, as in they'll be able to see what Leoben's seeing, but there's a small suggestion that they might. Either way, something might be able to happen along those lines.
The second is that Leoben can start having visions about people, be it their past, their future in their canon, or their future in Splendor, something like that. Usually when Leoben sees something like this, he works towards getting what he saw in his vision to happen, regardless of whether it is good or not. He's seen it, it's what's going to happen.
The third is linked to the second in that if your character has a destiny and/or is some kind of "chosen one", Leoben will find out and then work towards having your character achieve said destiny with whatever it takes. Please note that he doesn't have a very good track record with this, if his relationship with Kara Thrace is anything to go by.
So, those are the options I've come up with, but I'm happy for any and all other suggestions. I'll probably be playing with this idea more as the days go by, as I'll be going away next week for a week or so and my tagging will be limited. This log would probably happen sometime towards the end of the month as a result.
