[It takes a full minute for Makoto to realize just whose voice has called to her over the seal. Once it clicks she scrambles to pull it out of her pocket, almost dropping the thing. She changes it over to video, wanting to see him. Her expression is a bit flustered looking.]

Tr-Trunks?! Is that you? Are you okay?

[Voice --> Video]

[He'd expected how she'd react, tried to practice for it, but oh crap, that look on her face....]

Yeah.

[He switches over to video a few moments later, smiling at her hesitantly.]

Um... hi. How are you?

[It really is him. She feels a mix of different feelings bubble up. Relief. Happiness. Curiosity. Insecurity.]

Where... where have you been? I was so worried about you! You weren't responding over the seal I... [Her gaze falters and she looks away from the seal, unable to fight the more somber tone that slips out.] I thought you had left.

No, not yet. [The tone and grin he attempts come out as uncomfortable instead of cheeky.]

I had... work. Stuff suddenly came up, and I couldn't leave it alone.

[Trunks starts, and what would have been a decent shot of the shop across the street turns out a colorful blur.

He turns around to see who bumped him; his face is furrowed from confusion rather than anger, but good luck figuring that out.]
