I have an interest in them as a whole. The thing about fables is that there's always a reason they came into being-- a kernel of truth or a moral to be drawn from them. Take urban legends, for example. While the story or the entity in question is often blown out of proportion in a citywide game of telephone, there's an undeniable start to the tale.
