[Break has been trying, for a little while now, to understand how he arrived here. He remembers the smell of blood and a surge of illness; he remembers music. Entrancing notes led him to a thing on the floor that he was able to touch and feel and figure out was a music box, and from there, a hallucination of beautiful things.
Now: Here he is, standing somewhere he isn't sure of, breathing out his adrenaline and desperation. ("Can't you see that this man is dead?")
("Can't you see - ")]
Hey.
[Silence. No sounds of breathing but his own. That man isn't here. The two Baskervilles are nowhere nearby, and neither is - ____. His mind refuses to think the name.
After a while, he realizes that he's left whatever room he started in and found 'outside.' He breathes the air and sits on the bottom staircase at the front of city hall, tracing the raised design on the strange seal he has in his hand. It takes a while longer to notice a second chain around his neck (besides the one beneath his shirt) and the key at the end of it, but his interest is more immediately seized by the seal; the design takes a moment to recognize by feel alone, but he's reasonably sure it is the shape of
the Mad Hatter's eye.
Where is he? He has to get back. The mission - his plans. Ruined.
Break listens for the sound of anyone nearby. When he hears footsteps about to pass where he is sitting, he holds out his cane straight in front of himself, blocking the person's path. He doesn't bother trying to look at the person, but it really only looks like he's staring at his shoes.]
Where is this.
[ooc: Have a very confused, grieving, unhappy man in formal wear. He uh. Could really use an explanation. His mood is terrible, so there's no trace of the carefree affectation you would normally see with him and if answers aren't provided in a timely fashion there is the potential for conflict. W-what a first impression, huh.]
