today IS the greatest
Left history midterm feeling that I did reasonably well. Ran into English department chair in lobby, coming back from committee meeting, who gave me two thumbs up and told me that my dissertation project sounded very exciting. Did small happy dance (yeah, so I don't mind looking silly when happy...anyway, all friends here) in English department lobby. Got email saying my petition is officially approved and that Graduate Committee "sang my praises." Pictured Prof. Ganim singing. Hastily banished image. Very good mood.
Got in car, turned on radio: Smashing Pumpkins singing "Today is the greatest day..." Cracked up, sat in car and laughed for a good two minutes. Probably confused other drivers.
