In other and more tragic news, we've just heard that Professor Emory Elliot passed away suddenly. More on this later, when we find out what happened and when we're all less in shock. He was a great friend to many of us in the department, and a huge supporter of our graduate conference, which I am chairing this weekend. We'll probably dedicate it to him...
