He came to UCR from UCI, by the way. I had not ever had a seminar with him, since his areas and mine did not coincide, but on the occasions we met at guest lectures and parties, he was a very friendly and energetic man.

In other news, I got to do my first author-publicity event today. Online, that is. They set up a forum thing on yahoo for us to promote Strange Worlds of Lunacy. It's kind of fun--I've been in and out all day, and there are some decently talkative people.
