I just got home from work. I did a 2-hour training session tonight of all my new house managers. I was honestly very truly nervous. (However, I guess nerves really aren't so unusual for me.) This was my first big training, and I knew I had to project confidence and knowledgeability and still be somewhat entertaining in order to keep 5 college kids engaged for that span of time. Additionally, having good house managers is so important to me doing my job well that if I messed up tonight, I'll be paying for it for the next 2-3 years! I seriously confused them all when it came to locking up the building. (It is a very confusing procedure anyway.) But otherwise, I think it went fairly well. They seem excited, which is a good sign. I guess only time will tell.
This week has felt busy so far ... Cinqo de Thai-o on Monday (there are so many byob Thai restaurants in Chicago ... Ashleigh and I decided it was a good way to celebrate while avoiding big crowds!), preparing for training yesterday, doing training today ... tomorrow is gym and dinner with Michelle, and Friday will be cleaning my house for weekend guest. I'm sure the weekend will go quickly too ... god, I feel like it's Monday already. In fact, since I have plans for the next 3 weekends, it might as well be June. Time needs to slow down!! I guess I shouldn't complain too much ... it's better than being bored.
