Variations on a theme

The theme for this year so far appears to be a tossup between inconveniently sick child (not that it's ever convenient, but the Q's timing the two times he has been sick has been spectacularly bad so far) and family deaths and related drama. Blerg ( Read more... )

Sympathies. A sick kiddo is a misery all around.

If it does turn out to be the high fever thing, I can offer this one bit of comfort. My grandmother, who was a very bright, very active woman, and a director of admissions at her alma mater, and who lived to be 97, still holds the record for highest temperature that a child in has survived in the State of Virginia. It came, it scared the hell out of everybody, it went, she was fine and took up the reins of her toddler life, and thrived.

I'm Thothmes over on dw too, if you are interested. Not that the two journals are very different. I just have more icons to play with over there.

We got lucky - I don't think his temp went much above 102. But man, after a winter of almost no illnesses at daycare, they've got pneumonia, bronchitis, step, RSV, impetigo and pinkeye all over just in the last two weeks.

p.s. (and these addenda seem to be becoming a nasty habit) I'm sorry that this year so far seems to be characterized by family deaths. I wish you peace and happy memories.

*hugs* for the family deaths and drama, as well as for the sick kiddo. Hope he feels better soon!

As for lj/dw, I crosspost and read/write comments on either site, depending on the weather, the outlook on the global stock market, and the state of my fingernails.

Thanks, hon. I'm well removed from the drama this time, though I feel horrible for the people in the middle of it.

Q is much better, though still teething hard and a little miserable from that. But otherwise, he is so much fun lately.
