No degrees of seperation
Most days I am quite fine with the extent to which my fannish and non-fannish lives intersect here. I'm very fortunate to have good friends who are fannish and on lj and with whom I can go to lunch and talk slash and fandom and squee. And the rest of the meatspace folk who read my lj, well, I've just learned to ignore the mocking.
And then there are days like today, when fairmer drops a comment into casual lunchtime conversation that her mother-in-law was very entertained by my description of the Lean Cuisine incident the other day.
"Bwuh?" I say.
"Oh," replies the Mer. "She's been reading my friendslist."
*facepalm*
