It's funny when people don't quite read things the way you intended online. Especially since there are a number of people on my flist that I've "known" for a while, I tend to forget that we have never met in person and you may not exactly get my sense of humor! A couple people mentioned that I sounded "bitter" about "American Idol" -- I certainly was not overjoyed, but I do somehow manage to keep perspective. A glorified talent show, albeit one I enjoy, is not something to get massively upset about. Even if it did, I now know enough about me, my emotions, my reactions, and my values to better recognize when something is being overblown in my mind. Such things are not worth getting riled up over, plus my tendency is to rant about something for 10 minutes and then get over it. Something has to affect me on a deep level to really stick around and venture over the line into "bitterness." I'm a pretty easygoing guy, overall. Hopefully, most people who know me for real recognized
the posting as being mostly facetious. I mean, c'mon -- asking Katharine McPhee to run for president should have been a dead giveaway! :P
