on the way into work i watched police officers trying to talk a man from a ledge on the side of the aurora bridge. ledges are scary - you have to simultaneously fight the fear of falling from the ledge along with a secret fear that you may just throw yourself off. to see someone on one and to have seen so many other people below one... it's just kind of horrifying and sad.
...and so it's monday morning in the pacific northwest. why am i taking a vacation to a country where people commit suicide more than we do?
