Last night our furnace had a minor mishap. We have forced hot air heating, and the circuit that's supposed to control the fan broke. Now the fan doesn't turn off. When the furnace fires, it's fine. But when the furnace is dormant, which is the case for the most of the day, we have a soft cooling breeze blowing through the whole house. I could go and turn it off, but that would turn off the entire furnace, and I know I'd forget to turn it back on when it got cold tonight. So today... layers.
iresprite had his wisdom teeth yanked yesterday. Today he is all doped up on Vicodin. This weekend he is flying off somewhere exciting and needs some things sent to the cleaners. I offered to do it for him since he probably shouldn't drive. This morning
terrier_girl mentioned that I should put some gas in the car. I made it about four blocks and then sputter-sputter dead. I had just enough fumes to pull into the bank parking lot. Thankfully we only live a few blocks from downtown so there was a gas station about a mile away. The frustrating thing is that I didn't even have enough gas in the car to make it to the gas station. I'm just glad this didn't happen when we had the wee one in the car, or it could have been a minor disaster.
Oh, and Ire's dry cleaner can't get his stuff done fast enough so I wound up brining the clothes back home anyway. And the extra time it took to walk to the gas station and back again meant I couldn't stop for my restitutional latte.
Grump.
