Just out of curiousity - are you using spiritofeowyn as your professional e-mail address?
If so, it would be relatively easy for any potential employer to find your livejournal and read any public entries. Food for thought.

You know I find you incredibly comptetant and intelligent. Quirky and fun. Excellent with kids and adults alike. I think people are fools if they don't want you as an employee. I'd snatch you up in a heartbeat if I were running a school.

You need to smile, be happy. Spend a little time in the public library with the GRE test book. There is no failing the GRE. There are higher scores and there are lower scores. My scores were not high. They were low enough that I had to cross two graduate schools off my list of places to apply because I did not meet their basic admittance requirements. I looked for schools that did not mention a minimum requirement. I still was accepted to a program - one that's an excellent fit. Often GRE scores are considered as an afterthought in the application process - your essays, your coursework (not grades in those courses), and filing your paperwork correctly are often all that matter.

Please do yourself a financial favor and include in your graduate school search places that are small schools, where they offer teaching assistantships and living stipends to their Master's students. Colorado State University is one of these schools, as is Miami University where I attend. I know there are several other out-of-California schools where you will not have to pay a dime out of pocket for a Master's degree in ESL or Education.

You can do this! Really! Don't let current realities beat you down. It's not worth the frustration.
I'll search for schools with ESL and Education Master's programs that offer living stipends, teaching assistantships, and/or grants. Just send me a message when you're confident that a Master's is something you want to pursue seriously.
