Myungsoo and Sungyeol stood there in silence for a good few minutes, just thinking to themselves. With a sigh, Myungsoo then sat on Sungyeol’s bed, his eyes kept on his socks as Sungyeol was standing in front of him, not speaking a word. Silence could mean a lot of things, like thought or comfort or regret. What their silence meant was unknown to Myungsoo and so he found it unbearable to not know what the other was thinking. He hated it when Sungyeol didn’t open up to him.

He stood up again when Sungyeol showed no response, sighing exasperatedly, ‘Sungyeol.’

‘Don’t play with me,’ Sungyeol warned through gritted teeth almost immediately, taking a step back with his palm out. He was tearing up again and Myungsoo wanted nothing more than to wipe those tears away.

‘We’ve been there before,’ Myungsoo reminded. Of course he wouldn’t go there again, not after what they went through the first time.

Sungyeol snapped in annoyance, although his mood was visibly a little lighter, ‘You don’t deserve any of this crap.’

‘I know I don’t,’ Myungsoo chuckled, shaking his head as he took a step forward.

‘You’re a booger-sucking cockroach.’

‘I know,’ the younger sighed, ignoring the immature insult.

The acknowledgement of his almighty booger-sucking made Sungyeol’s lip quirk in amusement. He continued with a small grin on his face, ‘You’re a double-decker rotten fish burger.’

‘I know.’

‘You’re a paper-cut.’

‘I know.’

Myungsoo took another step forward, smile gracing his lips - much like the one on Sungyeol’s face - and wrapped his arms around Sungyeol’s waist. Sungyeol let his hands find their way into Myungsoo’s hair and around his neck, tugging him closer.

They kissed slowly, lovingly, - It was tooth-achingly sweet, but it seemed more than right. Myungsoo’s use of tongue was minimal, instead he gently sucked on Sungyeol’s lips, just enjoying the feeling of their skin together. Sungyeol was in a daze in seconds, his hand sliding from Myungsoo’s messed up hair to his shoulder, this thumb swiping back and forth. It was bliss. Sungyeol hugged Myungsoo tighter, wanting to feel his radiating body heat through him, and Myungsoo smiled. Kissing Sungyeol was only one thing on the list of things he had missed.

-

Sunggyu’s eyes were widened as he stated in shocked, rather dumbly actually, ‘Your parents own our school.’

‘Hilarious, isn’t it?’ Woohyun laughed dryly. Sunggyu sneered at him - The news was finally sinking in.

‘Do your parents know about me and my…?’ he asked carefully, shooting Woohyun a knowing look.

‘And your punishing? No,’ Woohyun chuckled, ‘I don’t think they’d give a fuck if they found out though. They only care about the school’s image, profits and the kids’ grades.’

‘I’m safe then?’

‘Of course. And it’s not like I would tell them.’

Sunggyu figured Woohyun was right. Woohyun didn’t give a shit about his parents, but he cared for Sunggyu a lot - that was obvious. He wouldn’t spill the beans just because Sunggyu found out who his parents were. Plus, Woohyun didn’t think Sunggyu would tell anyone because, well, Sunggyu was a good friend, no matter what anyone saw.

‘Plus, if they found out why Paran’s grades are so high, they’d disown me and probably want to adopt you,’ Woohyun mentioned jokingly. It wasn’t exactly false, though. Only Sungyeol and Dongwoo knew that Woohyun’s parents owned Paran and Woohyun’s parents would definitely rather have them than him.

Sunggyu remarked fondly, ‘I think I’m happy with my own mother.’

‘Really? You always mention trading.’

‘I wouldn’t mind trading, but keeping her is much more convenient.’ Sunggyu blew the bangs out of his face and slumped in his chair. The mention of his mother always made him suddenly very tired to say the least.

-

When they stopped kissing, it turned to quietly looking at each other with awkward clearing of throats and Sungyeol’s flushed cheeks. They were both pretty clueless about what to do, so Myungsoo just intertwined their fingers and asked, while staring Sungyeol dead-on, ‘Are we going out now?’

Sungyeol looked elsewhere because the way Myungsoo was staring at him was kind of creepy. ‘Maybe,’ he mumbled.

‘Are we dating now?’

‘Maybe,’ Sungyeol repeated indifferently.

Myungsoo then smirked and pressed a quick kiss to Sungyeol’s lips. He tilted his head at him and asked, ‘How about now?’

Although Sungyeol bit his lip in hesitance, he mumbled cutely in return, ‘Yes.’

And with that, they went back to kissing. For Sungyeol, it was the first time kissing Myungsoo without any concern as to whether Myungsoo was serious about him, and maybe he shouldn’t have trusted the other so easily, but Sungyeol thought he already proved himself worthy. Myungsoo wouldn’t hurt him again and he believed so with all his heart. Without either of them noticing, they sat onto Sungyeol’s bed, Sungyeol’s back against the wall as Myungsoo toyed with his tongue and his lips. Their hands refused to leave each other’s clothing as they tugged at each other’s shirts and ran down each other’s sides. It happened so naturally that Myungsoo didn’t even know what he was doing. He just knew it felt somewhat right and he was never the type to not be rash about his decisions, anyway. (Ignoring the fact that he practically confessed his undeniable love for Sungyeol in front of their whole school, that is.) He was happy and so he didn’t hold back.

He felt himself running out of air to breathe, so he pulled away, dotting a trail of kisses down Sungyeol’s neck. The latter cleared his throat louder than he intended and blushed, making Myungsoo laugh. He slapped him on the chest and shoved him back, making him fall gracelessly off the bed.

They spent an hour or two doing what Myungsoo had originally intended - holding one another and talking about anything and everything. That’s all Myungsoo had really wanted that day - just to show Sungyeol he could be serious and that he was serious about him - but he didn’t mind the kissing at all, honestly.

It was getting dark outside and so Myungsoo sighed into Sungyeol’s bird’s nest hair, ‘Hey Sungyeol.’

‘What?’ Sungyeol hummed, so relaxed he was almost falling asleep in Myungsoo’s arms.

There was a gentle press of lips to Sungyeol’s soft cheek and breath by his ear before Myungsoo whispered in goodbye, ‘I love you.’

Sungyeol didn’t return it and pressed his lips together, letting Myungsoo kiss his face as much as he pleased. Myungsoo then stood up and stretched, walking towards the window out of habit. When he was about to open it and climb out, Sungyeol mentioned confusedly, ‘You can use the door, you know.’

Myungsoo looked to the ceiling and turned around as he remembered he didn’t sneak in this time. ‘Right, I forgot,’ he hummed. Then he saw Sungyeol sitting cross-legged on his bed, a cute look of disappointment on his face. He strolled over to him and looked down, caressing his cheek as he offered, ‘Or I can stay here for a while?’

Sungyeol visibly lit up, but didn’t say anything out of keeping his pride.

After Myungsoo sat down beside him once again, he hugged him tightly muttering onto the skin on his neck, ‘You’re a ten, a seven hundred, a fucking three-point-eight-five trillion.’

Sungyeol laughed.

-

That Sunday, Sungjong was persuaded into his room by his parents and told to study for the exams. He was ridiculously bored, having the foggy window as his only entertainment. As he drew funny pictures on the glass with his finger, he soon realised his cute pictures of puppies and aliens had somehow turned to the quadratic formula. Even his conscience was fucking telling him to study. What a sad life he lived…

He really couldn’t take the blur of words and numbers anymore so he did the stupid thing and turned on his phone. Like a miracle, Yongguk called him as soon as his phone finished booting up.

‘So… you want to hang out today? It’s been a long time,’ Yongguk suggested, a hopeful tone in his voice.

Sungjong was about to say yes, save me from the repetitive nightmare, but he could hear his parents talking about universities downstairs. It was obvious that he needed a break, but Sungjong thought he couldn’t afford one.

‘Sorry, I need to study,’ he deadpanned, resting the side of his head in his textbook as he mentally cursed himself for being such a horrible boyfriend.

‘Really?’ Yongguk didn’t sound very surprised - probably because he’d been getting rejected a lot for the past few weeks.

‘Yeah,’ Sungjong huffed, wanting to strangle something, throw something out the window, anything.

‘Well, that’s too bad then…’ He sounded really disappointed, even though he obviously tried not to.

Sungjong said apologetically, ‘Next time, okay?’

‘Okay.’

They hung up and Sungjong was, yet again, back to his torture.

‘Sungjong, who are you talking to up there?!’

-

It was almost eight when Myungsoo got home on Sunday night. Unsurprisingly, Sunggyu was sitting on the couch, watching television with their sleeping mother. Sunggyu raised an eyebrow as Myungsoo kicked off his shoes and then practically floated passed like his shoes had weighed a ton. There was a sickening smile on his face and he was sighing blissfully, making Sunggyu want to throw up.

‘I’m guessing everything worked out with you and Sungyeol,’ Sunggyu observed correctly, shaking his head to himself. He had a feeling Myungsoo was going to be all sunshine for the next week and it was going to be hell.

Myungsoo sat next to their mother, who was still fast asleep even with the shift of weight, and clucked, ‘Yep.’

‘If you screw it up this time, you are dead,’ Sunggyu threatened with a forced smile, carefully reaching over to pat Myungsoo’s head patronisingly.

‘I won’t screw it up,’ Myungsoo said confidentially, looking rather proud of himself.

Sunggyu didn’t trust his judgement. ‘Did you borrow some dating handbook from the library then?’

‘No, I know how to date.’

‘Oh really?’

‘Yeah, Hyun could teach me.’

Sunggyu almost laughed at that. ‘Woohyun doesn’t know how to date,’ he pointed out, failing to crush Myungsoo’s hopes and dreams.

‘No, but he knows Sungyeol,’ Myungsoo remarked happily, ‘My boyfriend.’

Sunggyu rolled his eyes and gazed back at the television.

‘And I can’t talk to Dongwoo because he’s always with Howon. I still find that weird. How did Howon, with his lack of human feelings, start dating before me?’

‘You are not one to talk about absence of human feelings, Myungsoo.’

-

Later that night, Sunggyu called Woohyun again, huddled in his blanket. He wanted to step onto his balcony and breathe in the frosty air, but he was only wearing a loose t-shirt and boxers, and he was too lazy to put a coat and pants on.

They didn’t talk about anything out of the ordinary - just the usual arguments and reminiscing of childhood trends - so expectedly their relationship didn’t change even with Woohyun’s little secrets out in the open. They talked about how old they had gotten and how they were both adults, but were too young at heart to feel like it. (Woohyun scoffed at this and Sunggyu shot the phone a glare.) It was hard to feel independent when you were cooped up in school like pigeons being trained to send one-sided love letters. Sunggyu mentioned that he never really had time to grow up because of his dad’s passing and Myungsoo’s immaturity. Woohyun said that he was the same. When his parents started to constantly leave him alone whilst on business trips, he learnt about the outside world by himself. At such a young age, he learnt about bills and insurance and commitments. He learnt to grow up. Actually, he was forced to grow up, just like Sunggyu.

They both found another thing in common and they both wanted to start over.

‘The deal is still on, right?’ Woohyun brought up after the conversation halted.

Sunggyu yawned, ‘Of course it’s still valid.’

‘I’m going to work my ass off.’

‘Thank God. I thought you were going to cheat.’

‘I don’t care for cheats, actually. I’m not that childish.’

Sunggyu laid on his bed and put his phone on speaker. The corner of his lip quirked as he answered sheepishly, ‘Oh please, you probably get stopped just before entering horror movie screenings.’

Woohyun scoffed. He had to admit that he could’ve acted more grown-up, but he wanted his teenage years to be his reckless ones, filled with passion and risk-taking. He was too young to grow up completely.

Sunggyu rolled onto his side and changed topic, ‘Have you talked to Sungyeol?’ Woohyun hadn’t mentioned Sungyeol or Myungsoo at all and so Sunggyu was sure the younger boy hadn’t found out yet.

Woohyun sounded confused as he trailed off, ‘He called me and…’

‘And?’

‘He scared the shit out of me. I thought it was a prank because as soon as I said hello, he screamed and I had to hang up,’ he chuckled.

‘Maybe you should call him back,’ Sunggyu said, a hint of persuasion in his voice.

Woohyun blinked. ‘Now?’

‘Might as well.’

They hung up and Woohyun immediately called Sungyeol, not sure what Sunggyu knew about his best friend that he didn’t. Predictably unpredictably - because it was Lee Sungyeol and you never knew what he did next, you only knew that it would be something you wouldn’t expect - Sungyeol screamed once he picked up the phone, ‘AH -‘

Woohyun hung up, not affected this time. Just as he hung up, Dongwoo called so he accepted it.

‘Hello?’ he answered warily. Maybe Dongwoo was with Sungyeol and they were both going to scream into the phone this time. Well, that’s what Woohyun thought - he didn’t know what to expect from Dongwoo either.

Dongwoo sounded lifeless as he breathed, ‘Sungyeol and Myungsoo…’

‘What?’ Woohyun snapped, getting tired of all the unintended stalling. He wanted to know the news already!

Dongwoo shouted happily and Woohyun vaguely heard him jumping around his room, ‘They got together!’

‘Today?’ Woohyun asked excitedly, smile spreading across his face.

‘Yes, today! Isn’t this so cool?! Next will be you and Sung-‘

Woohyun hung up, uninterested about Dongwoo’s unnecessary rambling about him and Sunggyu. He refreshed the window on his laptop and watched as Myungsoo’s Facebook relationship status changed. He shook his head and sighed, ‘You owe me big time, Kim.’

-

The next day, Myungsoo found Sungyeol by his locker. He immediately smiled and his eyes scanned over Sungyeol’s butt - His instincts obviously didn’t deteriorate. He carefully went up to Sungyeol, his hands in his pockets. ‘Hey,’ he greeted.

Sungyeol turned around and flushed at how close Myungsoo was. ‘Hi,’ he hiccupped cutely, making Myungsoo cup his cheek and kiss his forehead lovingly.

That wasn’t enough so Myungsoo placed his hands on Sungyeol waist and kissed him fully, making sure to tilt his head at the right angle so their noses didn’t squish together. Sungyeol giggled into the kiss, feeling some shocked eyes on him. He didn’t know if he should’ve pushed Myungsoo away to keep the little secret or not hide it and scream it to the world. Well, Myungsoo’s mouth was amazing, so he couldn’t really do the former. He just let Myungsoo have his way for a while.

Myungsoo pulled away after a couple of minutes, swiping the saliva off the corners of Sungyeol’s lips. ‘See you in literature,’ he murmured against his earlobe.

‘Okay,’ Sungyeol hiccupped again.

Myungsoo laughed and pinched his cheek. Sungyeol karate chop him away, noises included.

-

‘Well, the whole school is already informed of Myungsoo and Sungyeol’s official relationship,’ Sunggyu mentioned, snipping away the fur, skin and muscle of the rat.

‘Paran,’ Woohyun sighed, not surprised. The younger boy was watching in fascination, intrigued at how intricate and systematic the insides of the rat looked.

Sunggyu peeled away the diaphragm so they could inspect the lungs. He then cut through the sternum and pulled the ribcage open. He muttered, while prying out the purple heart, ‘Biology exam next Monday… Are you studying for it?’

‘I’m only going to study for the math one. It’s next Wednesday, right?’

‘Sure is,’ Sunggyu confirmed, finally taking his eyes away from the specimen to give Woohyun a playful smile. ‘I would like to remind you that you will need perfect school uniform to even enter the examination room.’

Sunggyu was right to mention that because Woohyun didn’t wear the entire uniform. He would always wear a graphic tee underneath his blazer, a different jacket over the school button-up, or jeans instead of his trousers, and he always wore sneakers.

Those days, he’d been wearing jeans for the past couple of weeks and Sunggyu noticed. It was because he kinda of lost his trousers. He lost the first pair before school even started and the second pair disappeared into thin air. He might’ve lost them somewhere in his house or maybe he dropped them into the black hole in his closet. ‘I’ll find my trousers. They’re… somewhere in my closet.’ He hoped. Woohyun answered unsurely, ‘…Maybe.’

Woohyun had a feeling he’d be buying a new pair of pants he’d only wear once.

-

Sungyeol was sitting alone in literature, waiting for Myungsoo to come. Class started five minutes ago and the younger still hadn’t showed up. Sungyeol sighed and rested his chin in his hand, already bored of class. Just as he looked up to the teacher, the door to the classroom swung open and Myungsoo giddily stepped in.

The teacher saw him and almost through her book at him. She sighed in defeat and grunted, ‘Take a seat.’

Myungsoo staggered over to the back row and grinned when he saw an empty seat next to Sungyeol. ‘Saved it for me?’ he clucked, clicking his tongue as he clumsily sat down.

‘It was hard to for so long. You know my popularity,’ Sungyeol remarked dramatically, tapping his fingers on the desk.

Myungsoo audibly scoffed and slumped into his chair, his hand resting on the back rest of Sungyeol’s.

Sungyeol looked at the clock and commented casually, ‘You’re kind of late.’

With a smirk, Myungsoo’s hand slid down the chair and easily found Sungyeol’s thigh. ‘Are you going to punish me?’ he whispered, cocking an eyebrow suggestively.

Sungyeol froze on the spot from the contact. His head slowly spun towards Myungsoo’s direction, his eyes round and unblinking. Myungsoo’s nimble fingers gave his upper thigh a hard squeeze and made Sungyeol fall out of his daze. He screamed loudly, ‘FREAKING PERVERT!’

He flailed ruthlessly, only making Myungsoo laugh while clapping his hands in amusement.

‘Lee Sungyeol!’ the teacher growled, pointing at Sungyeol’s bewildered face.

Sungyeol put on his best misunderstood face and whined, ‘But, miss! I -‘

‘I don’t want to hear it! Keep your mouth shut,’ she spat, turning back to the whiteboard.

Myungsoo was laughing into his arms, his fingers gripping his sleeves as his stomach hurt from the little show Sungyeol had put on.

Sungyeol pouted and jabbed the younger student hard in the side. ‘I hate you so much,’ he muttered, crossing his arms.

Myungsoo finally recomposed himself, although he was still having trouble suppressing his laughter. He gently pet Sungyeol’s dishevelled hair as he whispered pacifyingly, ‘Love you too, babe.’

-

Yongguk was hanging out with his friends at the lockers during the start of lunch. He spotted Sungjong speedily walking down the hall, eyes fixated ahead of him. Yongguk grabbed his arm before he could pass and asked in curiosity, wondering why he was rushing off, ‘Where are you going?’

‘Library,’ Sungjong grunted, shaking the other off in disregard.

‘You shouldn’t overwork yourself,’ Yongguk complained.

‘Yeah, whatever,’ Sungjong muttered, walking away.

Yongguk tipped his head, narrowing his eyes a little at his boyfriend’s retreating figure. His odd behaviour was really getting to him.

One of his friends placed a hand on his shoulder and commented, ‘Dude, that was cold.’

Yeah, that was really cold and Yongguk was beginning to think their relationship was at a crossroads.

-

The teachers hated Woohyun. They really hated him. It wasn’t fair to throw a kid in detention because I know you will screw something up, so I’m sending you to detention in advance, Nam Woohyun. How did she know Woohyun was going to do something? Maybe he was going to go to the library and actually study for once. Of course he wouldn’t mess with those group of freshmen…again. But no, the teachers never thought that would actually happen.

‘Again, Howon?’ Woohyun chuckled in amusement.

Howon walked into the room and took a seat besides the other, looking very confused.

Woohyun looked him up and down, mumbling, ‘Why the fuck are you wearing pyjamas?’

Howon looked at him with that same confused expression, almost like he was helpless. He opened his mouth, but the words didn’t come out. After shaking his head, he pondered out loud, ‘I don’t know… Sungyeol was talking to me and after I blinked, I was being escorted to the detention room in my pyjamas.’

Woohyun should’ve known this was Lee Sungyeol’s doing. His pranks worked the best when he was happiest and since he was with Myungsoo, he must’ve been pretty happy. With a sigh, Woohyun said fondly, ‘You’re lucky you didn’t get it worse than that.’

‘What do you mean?’ Sadly, Howon didn’t really know much about Sungyeol’s insane abilities - nor did he know that Sungyeol was the one who gave him the mistletoe head attachment or the because he’s the man award. The certificate was actually in his folder, along with all his other certificates. It would be helpful to him at job interviews.

‘Sungyeol goes easy on people he like, but people he don’t like…’ Woohyun shuddered at the thought. ‘Don’t get on his bad side. My grasshopper can be fowl when he has to be.’

Howon was still gobsmacked at how he was wearing pyjamas, and not just any pyjamas, they were his. How did Sungyeol get his pyjamas? Did he break into his room? How did he know where he lived? ‘I still don’t understand how he did that. I didn’t fall unconscious or anything,’ Howon said blankly, half-ignoring what Woohyun was saying due to his daze.

‘Don’t try to understand it, just stay away from it,’ Woohyun laughed, patting Howon’s shoulder in comfort.

The door opened and a teacher’s voice grunted, ‘Shut it, you two. You might as well take this time to study. Your exams are next week.’ The door then slammed and Howon and Woohyun were able to talk again.

The teacher had a point, Woohyun thought - He could really use that time to study and get Sunggyu to cook for him. Fortunately for him, he had the school’s second ranked student right next to him. He requested, knocking Howon out of his muddled calculations about Sungyeol, ‘Hey, you wouldn’t mind helping me with math, would you?’

‘Sure. This is because of Sunggyu, isn’t it?’ Howon replied, standing up and making his way to the whiteboard.

Woohyun clicked his tongue. ‘He told you?’

‘Yes. It’s one of the few things about you that he has told me.’

-

Once lunch time came around, Myungsoo refused to leave Sungyeol’s side for a second. Sungyeol tried escaping, but every time he turned a corner, he would see Myungsoo’s smirking face.

They were in the locker hall when Sungyeol had run out of energy. Running away from his clingy boyfriend was extremely tiring to say the least. He collapsed onto the ground, his back against the cold lockers as he blew the hair out of his face.

He huffed in annoyance, ‘Do you really have to stick to me like glue just because we’re dating?’

‘Yeah,’ Myungsoo said matter-of-factly, nonchalantly taking a seat next to him. Although all he had done that lunch was chase Sungyeol, he wasn’t even sweating like the other was.

Sungyeol snapped, wiping the sweat that pooled at his forehead with his sleeve, ‘You are so annoying, I hate you!’

Myungsoo cooed, petting Sungyeol’s hair affectionately, ‘If you’re going to keep acting so cute, I’m not going to stop kissing you, babe.’

‘When did you start calling me babe?’ Sungyeol scrunched his nose.

Myungsoo smirked lopsidedly. ‘Since you started liking it.’

‘I hate it,’ the older boy rejected, flicking his head away.

‘You love it, don’t deny.’

‘I hate it like I hate you.’

Myungsoo reminded shamelessly, ‘Hey, you came pretty hard last time I said it.’

Sungyeol blushed furiously and buried his face into his knees, holding back a symphony of strange insults and dolphin screams. He couldn’t believe they had sex before they started dating.

‘My baby’s so cute,’ Myungsoo chuckled, twirling Sungyeol’s hair around his finger.

Sungyeol faked some sobbing and groaned pitifully, ‘What have I gotten myself into?! I didn’t sign a contract, so I could get out of this, right?’

-

‘You’re a much better teacher than Sunggyu,’ Woohyun complimented, writing down the last of Howon’s many, many notes.

A knowing smile spread across Howon’s face as he stopped mid-word and questioned, ‘Sunggyu taught you before?’

‘Hey, it’s the first time I’ve seen you smile so suggestively,’ Woohyun pointed out, in hopes of avoiding why Sunggyu had taught him that day. He still had no idea why they had a lesson and why he allowed Sunggyu to be so strict and so amused by his pain.

Howon caught him again, ‘You’re changing the subject.’

Woohyun refused to say anything, but the expectant look Howon was giving him made him give in. So that was how he founded out he could never say no to Howon, much like Sungyeol or Myungsoo.

With a sigh, he elaborated dryly, ‘Yes, he’s taught me before, but I don’t see how he expected me to learn anything when he kept beating my head.’

‘Sunggyu likes aggressive methods. He finds them the most effective,’ Howon mentioned, turning back to the board and finishing his examples.

‘I prefer a painless, go-at-my-own-pace method.’

‘Me too,’ Howon mused.

Hearing the agreement, Woohyun instantly stood up and showed his fist to Howon. ‘Fist bump,’ he demanded.

Howon crooked an eyebrow but pressed his fist against Woohyun’s anyway. ‘Why?’

‘Every time we find something in common we have to fist bump.’

‘Why?’

‘It’s in the bro code.’ Woohyun shrugged.

Howon shook his head and went back to the board. ‘It is no wonder why Woohyun and Sungyeol are friends.’

-

‘Howon told me you were studying in detention,’ Sunggyu mentioned casually that night.

Woohyun lit up at the remark, sitting up from his bed. His eyes wandered to the phone on his drawer as he chuckled, a challenging tone in his voice, ‘Between the two of you, he wins the award for best teacher.’

‘Oh please. My classes are way too advanced for your abilities,’ Sunggyu scoffed, drawing patterns on the glass of his balcony doors. He tugged the thick blanket tighter around his body, wishing someone was nearby to do it for him.

‘You sound sure of yourself.’

Sunggyu smirked and he was sure Woohyun could hear it in his voice. ‘I am, for your information.’

Before Woohyun could reply, he heard something crashing and loud noises of pain from the phone. ‘What the hell was that?’ he muttered in bafflement.

Sunggyu got off the floor and out of his room, finding his brother making pained faces at the base of the stairs. ‘Myungsoo,’ Sunggyu sighed, letting Woohyun hear the frustration and explanation in his voice.

‘Have to go?’ Woohyun asked understandingly.

‘See you at school tomorrow.’

He hung up and walked down the stairs leisurely, stepping over his brother so he could get to the floor. ‘That’s an interesting way of getting downstairs,’ he remarked nonchalantly.

‘My ankle hurts,’ Myungsoo groaned, carefully touching his tender foot. Well, of course something would hurt after you fell down the stairs…

‘Let me see if it’s broken, you graceful being,’ Sunggyu chuckled, elevating the foot onto his knee so he could get a good look at it. He slowly rotated the foot, carefully watching Myungsoo’s face for any signs of unbearable pain.

Myungsoo seemed able to cope - He had injured himself plenty of times - but once Sunggyu straightened his foot he exclaimed, ‘Hyung, fuck.’

After letting go and slowly putting Myungsoo’s foot back down, Sunggyu established, ‘Well, it’s not broken. We’ll do an ice compression to stop any swelling.’

‘The things you learn when you have a nurse as a mother,’ Myungsoo chuckled.

Sunggyu scoffed, walking to the kitchen to get ice, ‘The things you have to deal with when you live with a forever-tipsy nitwit.’

Myungsoo frowned.
