WRITE = RECEIVE
So! I have decided the following:
a) I like mail and want to get more
b) Most people like mail and want to get more
c) People are more likely to send mail if you send them some first
d) packages are even more fun
e) my friends have good taste in books
f) my friends have good taste in other friends (mostly)
***SO here is my proposed plan. Please reply to this post with your name, email address, snail-mail address and preferred genre of book. Or if you don't feel comfortable replying here, send that info to me at hannah.kendall@gmail.com. I will take all the names/addresses and make random matches of people and email you back your person. You then (within one week) send that person a book and letter - can be a used book, but please don't send something you wouldn't highly recommend - preferably within that person's genre of book.
This accomplishes the following, assuming good participation:
a) I get mail
b) Everybody gets mail - packages, even.
c) Everybody gets a new book to read, of good taste
and possibly even...
d) people meet others of like mind/book taste
e) fun is had by all.
If this goes well I'd even be down to do a repeat. So! Pass the word to other people. It will be fun, and cost little (again - no need to go buy books for this, unless you want to.)
