By all rights, the city shouldn't have been able to support any organic inhabitants - or Cybertronian, for that matter, but Optimus' energon levels were manageable for now. As long as there were no combat situations, his current store would last for quite some time. While he knew better than to expect nothing but peace, especially considering the dilapilated state of the area, optimism was a trait of his that went hand-in-hand with caution. Ironhide usually had a remark or two to make about it, but Ironhide wasn't here. If nothing had gone wrong - other than Prime's disappearence - Ironhide would be back on Earth with Bumblebee and the others.
For the moment, Optimus would continue to wirelessly explore the network he had discovered - not too different from the web on Earth - and try to learn more about the other lifeforms that were apparently trapped here. If there was some force keeping them from their homes, then Optimus knew there was no question about what he would be trying to do. There had to be a means of leaving, and he would do his best to find it.
It all began with information. So he remained parked on one of the abandoned streets, currently in vehicle mode to preserve power, and compiled his data.
