It was two-for-two now. Kanda flipped the small hand-held computer device shut and tossed it mindlessly onto a futon mat on the dojo floor in annoyance. The exorcist sat in momentary silence, internally trapped between not really caring if the idiot died since it'd save him the trouble of killing him later, and thinking he wouldn't have been of any use dead.
Not really delving deeper into either of the two thoughts than he had to, Kanda rose out of impulse as he'd always found himself doing, Mugen deftly snagged from the floor as he stood. He slipped the blade into its holster and near slammed the sliding door of the dojo open, feeling the wood twist and shudder under the abuse. Kanda glanced over the rain-rotted structure sourly, as if this was its fault, and shut the door.
The neighborhood wasn't that far, and the cemetary looked pretty devoid of various forms of the undead that day. Kanda squinted into the darkness out of habit as he trudged around plaques and mossy headstones seeping into the damp ground, the thought of needing to be worried fleeting and of no concern. Zombies were mostly like level 1 akuma: completely mindless and boring. He'd felled a few, and found it easier to just go around them in the long run.
Brisk steps found the Japanese teen's boots falling on cracked and weather-worn concrete. Dark eyes briefly scanned around the desolate streets and sidewalks, abandoned houses standing in tall rows like ranks of soldiers. Tch, the neighborhood was bigger than he thought.
