Who: Nii and Samus
When: Post-sermon
Where: The teacher's lounge at the school.
What: Nii wonders why he isn't dead yet.
It has been days since he last got up from the couch.
There wasn't anything much to do lately. He had gradually lost interest in his projects, and he was once again reduced to idle thinking. A few days ago he had tried to make his way to the library to see what reading materials were available, but something other than the lock kept him from going in. No amount of magic, sutras, or technology could open the damn thing, either.
So he was in a rut, spending his time lounging and drinking and amusing himself with other people's journal entries until there was nothing else to look at, drink from, or laugh at. Everything left a bitter taste in his mouth. It got worse when he ran out of cigarettes.
This wasn't the way he had hoped to go. At least, that was what he told himself a fortnight ago, when he ran out of alcohol and drinking water, and energy to get more of the two. The human body can't live for more than a week without water, and his own body was at its limit right now... so why wasn't he dead yet?
