Lottery Log - Edward and Silver Lind

May 20, 2007 14:09

Who: Edward and Silver Lind
What: While his brother is still sleeping Edward takes a foray into a previously unexplored sector of the city.
Where: A park. Presumably one far, far away from the garden.
When: Sometime after the earthquake

Edward smiled to himself as he quietly shut the door to their appartment, leaving his younger brother sleeping peacefully. He was still reveling in the fact of being able to see that gentle smile, the little rises and falls of his chest as he slept, to be able to stroke his sandy-blond hair and feel his soft, warm body.

Had it only been a few days since he had found his brother? It didn't matter. They were together again, they could do anything. They could get through anything the world was ready to throw at them.

Yesterday had been a spot of excitement, the City had shook, and it seemed as if many buildings had been ready to collapse. Well, it had been scary. Actually, one of the walls had been just about ready to give in and fall on them, when both brothers had scrambled towards it, Edward slamming his hands together and to the ground, Alphonse touching them lightly.

Well, that had been yesterday. Today, Edward was back on the problem of obtaining food. He had heard that there were parks somewhere. Parks meant vegetation, and vegetation meant possible food. Depending on what he found, he was certain he could get some sort of bread. And if all else failed...well, Al hadn't taken so favourably to it, and had forbid him from doing it, but he could always transmute money...

A sight of a large patch of green broke him out of his musings. Yep. There was grass. And flowers. And trees. And some sort of...mushroom like thing that he was pretty certain was similar to what had made him and his brother wonderfully sick when they had been 'training' on the island. Nope, he wasn't going to touch that.

Instead, he set to work, finding the largest patch of the greenest, tenderest vegetation, muttering to himself what he would need for his transmutation, and thinking he might bring back some more bowls or something while he was at it.

Crouching over one particular spot, he clapped his hands together and slammed them onto the ground, and watched in satisfaction as a loaf of bread formed. Food.

Suddenly, he became aware of a crunching noise behind him and approaching footsteps, as he whirled around to face the newcomer.
