Who: Thundercracker and Vash
What: TC finally decides to check the only place he hasn't.
Where: The Staircase
When: A little after the Earthquake

Thundercracker grimaced as something cramped and groaned in his internals. Crude oil just didn't agree with his systems: Cybertronian, or Terran jet form. But he didn't regret downing half of the barrel he found within the warehouse district. Refuels would be few and far in between, how likely would it be for him to find even another barrel somewhere? Besides, that damn low energy warning was finally gone from his vision.

He stumbled to a stop, willfully forcing down the near rejection his fuel tanks were trying to perform on the oil. A few seconds and internal tweakings later, Thundercracker straightened back up, no sign of his previous ailment showing anywhere except for that fain sheen of coolant across his faceplates.

Red optics dimmed as Thundercracker slowly took in where in the world he was. High above him stretched the winding staircase that was easily in his line of sight on most days since his arrival. But straight in front of him, sprawled the grand mouth of the stairway. Higher up, he could see the line of doors dotting the walls above. He had heard that this staircase had something to do with their worlds, was one of the secrets to getting back.

Some had already tried to find out. All had pretty much failed.

Thundercracker had nothing to loose in trying his own. He remembered a comment written in his journal. Find one's own purpose, it essentially said. He would try that. His purpose: find a way home, a connection, anything, by any means necessary.

His wings twitched in anticipation. It would feel good to fly again.
