Having had nearly all of his attention focused solely on the church before him at that point, and on what he figured was the movement of people (or...he hoped they were people) behind the stained glass windows, Lyserg hadn't even heard the stranger approach. Thusly, when a fairly loud voice broke the dull hum of silence, the Londoner jumped practically a foot, hand reaching up to his mouth in order to stifle any surprised squeaks.

His wide orbs turned towards its' source instantly in a mixture of curiosity and 'why did you just practically yell at me!'. "E-eh?" Squinting slightly in an attempt to see through the darkness, he picked up...silvery-looking hair? Despite the all-too-familiar hair colour, the figure was distinctly male. Not who he was looking for then...

"I'm Lyserg..." In comparison to the stranger, his own voice sounded almost too soft, too quiet. Curiosity reflected in his expression. "And you would be...?" Someone else unexpectedly dragged here as well, by the looks of it.

((Ooc; :D I don't mind at all, it's nice to meet you~))

The figure turned and spoke back with a much less abrasive voice. Lyserg? The name was odd, but then again he was becoming used to peculiar names. Riku’s eyes were adjusting to the dark and he could see the young man’s figure.

His voice did not hold the same volume as before yet the chill in his voice remained as a barrier. “Can you tell me where I am?” The surrounding area and the malevolent church looming above them were very unfamiliar sights. He hoped the other would have some useful information. All he needed was to find a way back to the island. Whether it was traveling though dark gates or finding a gummi ship.

"...Unfortunately, I can't. I just got here myself, pretty literally." His brow furrowed faintly towards the other male, obviously noting he was not there to make friendly small-talk, especially judging on his tone alone. Of course, in any normal circumstance he would probably be doing the same thing; looking for information, for a way out. Any way out. His eyes darted up towards the church casting the both of them in its' shadow, nose wrinkling slightly. Definitely not like the churches back home.

But then he returned his attention to the other newcomer, the ever-present curiosity sparking in his eyes. "Ara, then I take it you've just gotten here too, then?" Pausing for a moment as if considering which question would be the best to ask, he finally piped up with; "Are you from Japan, too?"

His eyes quickly scanned the area around. It seemed like anything could appear from the mist now rising from the street. The sky had held a dim glow but even that was fading. So the other just arrived like him. A most helpful situation.

"Yeah, I just woke up on those steps and got down here." He cast a gaze to the stairs that just spiraled upward. He didn't remember feeling like he walked incredibly far to get down, but they stretched upward until the darkness devoured them. "Never heard of Japan." He figured it was just one of the many other worlds. Most people didn't know they existed so this boy must be one of them.

"Sorry to cut things short, but can we put our life-long stories on hold?" He cast a look up at the tall building. "Truthfully this place gives me the creeps and it'll be pitch black before long. Since we're both new, it'd be pointless to wander off alone. We both don't know what's around these corners. Let's find someplace to stay the night and we can find someone else in the morning or some way back home."

He didn't expect to gain Lyserg's company this early on, but it was best to move quickly. Besides, this boy would probably need some sort of protection. His thin frame didn't look like it could to much damage.

[[ooc: The adventure begins? 8D Maybe Lyserg will get a chance to prove Riku wrong]]
