Aerith tilted her head, joining the newcomers along the path, stepping forward and blocking their way, her hands clasped together as she stood her ground, trying not to look like she'd harm them. "Please don't approach the Church."
Maybe taking a walk was a good idea after all.

He felt relieved when she stepped out, but he didn't drop his guard.
"You are...?"

She turned her head, looking up at the massive construct that was the Church. "You're in the City. I don't know what it used to be called, but that's what we call it now." She looked back at them both. "Are you new?"

"My name's Ky Kiske." He relaxed his posture out of his guarded position. She seemed like a very pleasant young lady, and her smile was convinving.
"We are new, in a sense," he answered. "We don't know how we appeared in this 'City', or why. Do you live here?"

"I'm not a native, if that's what you mean. I've been living here for a short while now, and I've never met anyone new." She glanced back behind her and frowned at the dark shadows of the church. "This isn't a miracle, and it's not a sign of good luck." She gestured with her hands. "But this isn't the place for us to talk. Come with me, we need to move away from here."

Aerith's words troubled him. He briefly debated the pros and cons of going with her, but eventually decided on listening to her. If things turned out ugly, it would be his responsibility to make up for his decision.
He nodded and waited for her to lead the way.

Well, she would be.
"Where do you live?" she asked out of curiosity.

Aerith hoped, that somehow, Rose would be able to keep that innocence without it being tainted completely. "It's a bit of a walk," she said, smiling and gesturing away from the Church and towards a row of houses. "It won't be much, though, but I think I'll be able to feed you."
She started walking, trusting them to keep up.

"You said you weren't a native here," he mentioned. "Then how did you come to this place?"

"I'm from a planet we call Gaia. It's a lot different from this City." She gestured a bit, her bangles making some noise as she did so. "I came here by... accident, so to speak. I'm sure you've had a similar experience."
"I'll help you get settled in, and I'll tell you what I do know." She twisted around, walking backwards, all so she could look at them both. "We're all in this together, so it's best we look out for each other, right?"

That was the best way she could put it, really.

She had heard of it, of planets, many planets in the universe, but she never thought of going herself, despite her ancestry. "But I just don't know where." She gestured to the neighborhood, close to her garden but far enough from the Church.
"This place is good enough, though I'm not sure if anyone will overhear."
