Rose didn't know where she was. One moment, she had been taking offerings to the church, but then she had stepped through the door, she found herself...here.
Where ever here was.
Following the steps down, she perked up when she spotted someone.
"Oh, hello. Do you work with the Father? Do you know what's going on?"
Maybe Father Cornello was working one of his miracles and had changed the church. She wasn't sure.
Then she realized that the steps ended and she could see a town.
"Oh...." Her voice trailed off as she looked around, wide eyed.

The Father? Ky continued to watch her silently as she finally realized where she was. She came down the steps just like Ky did, which meant that she probably was also a stranger to this place. Nevertheless, he decided to check and make sure.
"Hello, my name is Ky Kiske. I'm with the International Police Force." His usual introduction was said without hesitation. He kept his voice serious, but not aggressive. He wanted answers, but did not wish to scare her away. She seemed alarmed enough already. "Do you happen to know where this is?"

She looked at him with slightly wide eyes. "The International Police Force?" A hesitant tone. "What is that?"

"The IPF are a collection of officers who are dedicated to keeping the peace on Earth," he explained. "I am one of them. I was leaving my home for work, but when I exited the door I wound up on the staircase.
"Where are you from, Miss Rose?"

Aerith tilted her head, joining the newcomers along the path, stepping forward and blocking their way, her hands clasped together as she stood her ground, trying not to look like she'd harm them. "Please don't approach the Church."
Maybe taking a walk was a good idea after all.

He felt relieved when she stepped out, but he didn't drop his guard.
"You are...?"

She turned her head, looking up at the massive construct that was the Church. "You're in the City. I don't know what it used to be called, but that's what we call it now." She looked back at them both. "Are you new?"
