Waking up after being dead was a shock to the system. He remembered dying - collapsing inside Gurren to the sound of Simon screaming and then silence. He hadn't expected to wake up at the bottom of a stairwell (he was their tenacious and relentless leader for fucks sake, couldn't they have buried him somewhere more comfortable?). Luckily, he'd still had his cape and his katana, which he grabbed and set off. It looked like there was some kind of civilization around here, and hopefully one with few beastmen or stupid rules. Whatever this place had, Kamina would face it. There wasn't much else he could do.
Kamina could barely make out someone walking ahead of him in the darkness. Maybe this person knew something? There was something vaguely familiar about the jacket he was wearing. "Oi!" Kamina yelled, "Where the hell is this?!"
Simon paused in mid-step, hearing a voice behind him. It was disturbingly familiar - he might not even have noticed it had it not been for the dream world the Anti-Spirals had created, months ago. But it was impossible for him to be there; the Anti-Spirals were gone. Nia was proof of that. And humans hadn't created that dream world...
Still, all his doubts wouldn't stop him from turning around and seeing the familiar figure standing by the staircase he'd only just left.
Someone needed to shed some better light in this place. The emblem on the jacket was damn near impossible to make out, and something was itching in the back of Kamina's mind to get him to recognize it. If he could only see the damn thing!
He stared at this wanderer, who hadn't even bothered to answer his question. Hmph. Like he was going to stand for that. "You haven't answered my question! Do you know who the hell I am!?" He shook his fist, not wanting this person to underestimate his strength. He was nobody to be ignored like that!
It... really was him. The hair, and the jacket, and that voice-
Even if this was another dream world, Simon couldn't contain the thrill that burst through him, nor did he want to. "I know exactly who you are!" he smiled, spinning around fully and dashing forward to stand in front of his long-dead big brother. "Aniki!"
Strange how this dreamworld Kamina didn't seem to know what was going on. Maybe this was part of the dream? Not that it mattered - Kamina was Kamina, after all.
Kamina was preparing another brash threat when the supposed stranger approached him. He blinked at the other, completely confused. This guy addressed him like Simon did, but he was taller and older than Kamina remembered him. "S-Simon!?"
That couldn't be right, could it? Has his little brother finally grown into the man Kamina had always hoped to see - tall, proud, and fearless? Had Simon also perished? "Don't tell me you've died, Simon. If it is you..." Kamina would be severely disappointed if Simon had died before his chance to pierce the heavens. Simon had always had a great destiny before him.
