There had to be a side project. Side projects were what kept her going while she was waiting for the End to happen.
Even though she was far removed from her world, she always had been working towards the cause of wreaking havoc upon humans. Based on her experience, starting little fires here and there (both literally and metaphorically) was always better than concentrating on one fire alone -- it was a variation of the 'divide and conquer' tactic, wherein the firefighters had to split into groups and divide their resources, because if the fires got out of control, turned into raging tempests, and combined somewhere to make an inferno, they were all screwed.
It was a lose-lose situation for everyone involved (except for the arsonist, who presumably wanted the fire and the destruction that came with it in the first place), and that was the beauty of it.
But where to start the next little bit of trouble?
Scarlett leaned back on her wicker seat, idly looking through the various windows open on the laptop display. She was at the cafe again, sipping a nice cup of coffee while she considered her options or tried to come up with her own. It was the irony of it that made this scenario rather enjoyable, she supposed -- imagine that a lot of chaotic wars were planned by people who used models and, sometimes, dioramas. It was all very clean and pristine, until the plans were actually executed.
The nice part of it was that, like a fire, there were things that always went out of hand.
Smiling, Scarlett skimmed through one of the newer journal entries. Unpredictability was always an encouraging thing.
