Maybe I won't be getting a dog.

Two years ago I first applied to Rigdon Marine... at the time a qualification from the Coast Guard being delayed kept me from signing on.

A year ago they didn't have any positions.

4 months ago they had one job open but I was giving Freedom Marine the opportunity to make good on their promises.

Now with no money to my name after setting my hopes on a land job (which I still hope can pan out), Donna the HR Manager, the most notoriously hard to get a hold of person in the entire Offshore Supply Vessel industry actually called my disconnected number, and failing to reach me there she e-mailed me with her cell phone number.

Now, I go in for a physical and drug screen on March 24th with the company I've been trying to go to work for for 2 years... who's brand new boats I've drooled over for the entire time I've been out here.

I actually kinda hope I get one of the more promising land jobs... but I still need to get my USCG licenses to fulfill what I set out to do when I came here... so it's a toss up.

But I still have a week with Vic next week that I'm looking forward to, and who knows what will happen between now and the 24th.

It is a major relief though to know that at least if nothing pans out between now and then I will have a job come then. Still stressed, but not nearly as bad anymore.
