Life is good!
Wow, I feel like I haven't updated here in a long time. I probably haven't.
Anyway, let's see, what's new? I've started student teaching finally, and it's going really well! I really like my master teacher, and the kids are all pretty good. Next week I'm going to start actually taking responsibility for teaching parts of the class, and I'm also going to stay for the entire day once or twice next week so I can familiarize myself with all of my master teacher's classes (since I'm only there for 2 periods out of the day normally) so that I can substitute teach for her in the future. I'm excited but also a bit nervous... but I'm sure it will all go fine. :) The worst part about the whole thing is having to get up really early, since I'm there for 1st and 2nd periods each day. It's even worse when I spend a weeknight at Rudy's place, since he lives down in Palo Alto, which is like an hour's drive away from the school.
In other news, I just spent this past weekend down in L.A. for an event called L.A. Blues, and it was a LOT of fun. I had a great time taking workshop classes (although I didn't get as much out of them as I had hoped I would) and I had an even better time hanging out with friends and competing in a Jack and Jill competition. I ended up winning 2nd place in the competition, and it was out of about 20 couples or so. :D It's really exciting to get such good feedback about my blues dancing, since I've been getting a lot of good feedback about my lindy hop, but never felt quite as confident in my blues dancing. Now I will be going to Mile High Blues, another blues event that is taking place in Denver in 2011, for free because it is the prize for winning 2nd place in this competition. Yay!

I am #120, in the short red dress, and Rudy is #117, in the black t-shirt and jeans. Here are videos of prelims:

It was so much fun and I'm so happy with how I look dancing in these videos. :D I hope you guys enjoyed them!
