Yay!
I went to church this morning (used my dad's car, to his reluctant agreement) and it was a very good thing I did! Josh, a guy I sort of know at church, was giving a short message about communion today, before we took our communion... and before he did that (which was pretty awesome, I must say) he gave an announcement saying there was going to be a meeting after church to figure out when would be a good time to have a high school youth group, and to organise it.
I was like, YAY, this is perfect. I've totally been wanting to get involved more with my church, and it hasn't been easy, since I don't have a car, and it's hard for me to get up earlier than I already do on Sunday mornings. So I found Josh after church and asked him if he'd like me to help him with the youth group, and he was glad I offered, since there will be high school girls there, and it's good for them to have a woman to relate to rather than just him. So we ate pizza with the high schoolers and some of their parents after church, and figured out a good time and place to meet for youth group! It's going to be on Thursdays at 6:30, out in Creston at the old chapel. I THINK it should work fine for me to get there, since I have ballet on Thursdays until about 6, and I should be able to just come home and change really quickly and drive out to Creston (given that my dad will let me use his car). I don't think it should be a problem as long as I pay for gas, unless my dad has a week when he goes out of town or something, and Josh was even offering to give me rides if I need it. This is definitely an answer to prayer, and it seems perfect, since not only has our church been needing a youth group (God knows we have enough kids for one!) but I have a lot of experience working with middle school/high school kids, and love doing so. We're gonna get started straight away this Thursday! ^__^
