Boredom=Ramblings
Yesterday we had another summer day. We grilled veggie dogs and drank beer while laying out in the sun, no kiddie pool this time though. We ate sooo much. Veggie dogs, potato chips & dip, corn on the cob, and obviously push pops. It was a blast! Then the sun got covered up by a bunch of clouds so we laid on the futon watching Pirates of the Caribbean.
Today Jeff and I drove up north to look at motorcycles and get quotes cuz he really wants this certain supermoto bike. Then we ate lunch at a mexican restaraunt. I got shrimp fajitas that were delish! After that we stopped in toys r us because I've really been wanting that old toy. It's just the ball with the two paddles that are covered in velcro. It's basically cheater catch! But so fun. Then we met Sarah, Eileen, and Jimmy over at Zilker Park where they were grillin' burgers and dogs, drinkin' brews and chillin' out. Jeff wasn't feeling well so he didn't stay long. The rest of us left shortly after because there was no sun at all. It would've been the perfect kite flying day...mental note-buy a kite!
I'm super duper excited because I got a job offer the other day! I got an e-mail from a costume designer I assisted in the past asking if I would do the makeup for a photoshoot for the posters for an opera sometime in the coming weeks! It just gave me so much hope that I will be finding work and contacts after I graduate. If I'm already getting e-mails now!!! Woo hoo! She asked how much I would charge and since it's my first time doing makeup for pay I emailed Tara asking for advice and she told me I should try for $100 and haggle to no less than $60. Soooo I'm pretty stoked. I was also asked to help with some small costuming things on the shoot. How awesome! Both of my favorite things and I'll be getting paid. Tara gave me tons of great tips that will make me look totally professional. I hope I keep getting job offers! I'm going to try to makeup some business cards with the quickness so that if I do end up doing this job I can pass them out to everyone and start making more contacts. There is also a possibility I will be doing the makeup design/assisting costume design for Summer Stock Austin this year! They're doing Sweeney Todd and Little Shop of Horrors. Ummm..perfection?! What fun! I'm keeping my fingers crossed tight.
I've been having anxiety all weekend (what else is new) because I feel so behind in school. I've lost all motivation and its really killing me. I just hope I can find a way to get back to where I was so I can finish up the semester on a good note and FUCKING GRADUATE!
