Interview from HANAKO 08.2010

(Freakin' adorable ><)

"When I first heard about the role I was afraid I wasn't the right one for it but when I knew that the director is Nakamura-san I was overly happy. He's the director of some of my favourite movies."

This is what Nishikido-kun told us with his smile and carefree expression. His first main role in a movie is in a story about a samurai of Edo period who appears in the present times and become a patissier.
Nishikido-kun had to adapt himself to look like an ancient samurai on the screen, he had to take the attitude and the politeness of Edo manners and do his best to look like somebody who just appeared at our days.

"The director helped me a lot for it. I'm happy he let me practice before the crank in. It was hard but I hadn't big difficulties with sitting straight. It's painful but when I was little and me and my brother fought and made our parents angry they made up stay still and straight for many time, I think I got used to it."

Your character is a solid, manly man of the past.

"Yes, I had to not be cold and not show how much I was trying hard. I had to become like a "frame". I had to be strong and not be flexible keeping my own beliefs too. It was difficult."

By the way Nishikido-kun already give the impression to be a solid man...

"I have some rules inside of me, something that have to be followed, I want to protect this side of me. For the rest, I'm very soft (lol)."

Those important things he mystified just showed Nishikido's strenght. And what about the antique way of thinking of his character, like wanting a girl to stay home?

"Now it's not that period anymore. But if I'll have a wife I'd still like her to be at home."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASSU!!
