Mail: I heard that you created a "Nekurakai" (= Introverted/Gloomy group) with NEWS Kato, what kind of meetings are those?
Maru: It's not that we "created" it, we just go normally to eat together. It's not a real "Nekurakai" but doing the serialization on Myojo (Girl Friends) together our gloomy personalities came out, for example we went in a café together and we talked about coffee and many other things. It feels kinda sub-cultural.
Hina: It's a good one, at first you had one page and now two, it's getting bigger!
Maru: It feels nice, moreover we do the same in private life too. Some time ago we went to try ninniku food (=Garlic based food), we go to eat together often.
Hina: It's different from when you're with members, right?
Maru: Well, of course we are a little more careful to each other.
Hina: Yes, after all I'd be the same if I hang out with a member of NEWS or of another group.
Maru: Some time ago Hatori-san joined us in a bar, we had dinner in three. When I guested in the show (Mirai Theater) they have together with another NEWS member Hatori-san asked to join the "Nekurakai" and we agreed. Little by little the group is getting bigger.
Hina: I want to come too!
Maru: I think it's ok but maybe you'd find it weird...It's kinda like a girls group date, we try new food, we share it and give our impressions, we comment the wine too...I think you can do it too, moreover having new people is nice and interesting, it gets funnier.
Hina: I didn't know about this.
Maru: Me and Shige-chan can really talk about anything.
Hina : I g uess your tastes are very similar, I heard you like to talk about movies, etc...
Maru: Yes, yes! I went to buy the novel he released (Senkou Scramble) on the first day and I read it to give him my impressions. It was good, I wanted to know what was real and what not. You know, it's set in Shibuya, for example I asked him "I loved the bar of the old man, is it real?!". I was just like a fan! I'm really his fan!

♦Watching Mirai Theater Hatori-san often mentioned the fact that recently he broke up with his wife and that his new life alone is kinda sad and lonely, that's why when Maruyama guested in the show and talked with Shige about their Nekurakai, based on their gloomy and introverted personalities, he excitedly asked them to invite him out to drink together. The two agreed happily but then Shige turned to Koyama and said "You can't come, you're too happy" and made a lot of fun of him and his air head moments XD
♦The bar described in Senkou Scramble that Maruyama mentioned is called "Saint-Lazare eki ura" and is managed by Taichiro, the main character's wife's father. It's an old but fashionable bar, its name comes from the title of a famous photography by Henri Cartier Bresson. I'm pretty sure the bar doesn't really exist sadly XD
