Shige's Japanese character for this year is 変 "change". Many things changed. NEWS became 4, he started writing a book, his motivations and character changed a bit too. He really feels he's changed, even though he thinks that in some way he had no other choice but changing. He also changed his name and expect many things to go on changing from now on. After all growing up is a continuous change.
He talked to introduce the song he played about Ellegarden & The Hiatus. Ellegarden has always been one of his favourite groups but they parted and The Hiatus is the new project of Ellegarden's vocalist. Somehow the new group is totally different from the first one. Connecting to this, he commented about NEWS. Now that they're 4 something will change for sure, something new and cool may start from this.
He thinks that both Yamashita and Nishikido are cool though and he wishes to NEWS to go on changing like that. Of course it shouldn't be a completely different direction from before but since growing up means to change, he wants that and wants to start over with the new year.
About the regrets of 2011: He couldn't catch a tuna (=__=). Then of course it would be not having lives or cds. In this year he had lot of individual work and could write the book but he feels sorry because all this stole time to group activities too. That's why next year he wants to move earlier. He's training a lot playing guitar, not that he plans to play it during next concerts, he just enjoys that XD
A fan writes to him about birthday dictionary, she searched NEWS members ones and these are the results:
Keichan = An nsightful sarcastic person.
Shige = A well-informed, skillful to talk person.
Massu = A considerate, good leader.
Tego = A mysterious, alluring person.
Shige answered that he didn't know about this thing but he thinks that his description is kind of fitting. Even though it has good and bad points, he may be well-informed but sometimes he talks too much for example.
He doesn't think that Koyama is able to be sarcastic at all, he's always honest with his feelings.
Massu's bad points according the dictionary are being hegoist or too obsessive. Shige says that probably Massu has only this problem XD
Tegoshi's description is the most fitting according to Shige.
It seems that Shige is friend with the younger brother of Fujigaya, actually they met only 2-3 times though.
