Tv Guide Plus (Winter 2012) - Yamashita Tomohisa
(Credits to Watchful21)
The first drama since he's a solo artist, playing the role of the son of a funeral home family. It's the work that will symbolize his new start, Tomoshita wants it to "surprise" and "keep the expectations".
"I never heard of a drama with such setting, I never thought I could turn into a funeral director, I was surprised myself in a good way. Then every day I feel more expectations about what kind of drama will it be.
My character is the heir of a funeral home, he takes the distances from it voluntarily, he doesn't know that much about that work. First of all he want to find out what is the meaning of doing such a job. The drama starts with him trying to understand the "duty" of properly manage the bodies of dead people, I think that if I won't be able to show his feelings well people won't understand at all. Every job has its own meaning and faith, I want to play thinking about this."
"Human life" is a big and interesting theme also for Yamashita.
"In the first episode there's a line that says: "Do human beings live facing death?", this left a big impression on me...It's obvious that that's why we must live without regrets, I'd be glad if this drama will help me to grow up and to remember again the things I forgot.
I'm the type who settles new objectives at the beginning of every year. In 2012...of course I want to run ahead! I want to do concerts of course, I'd like to be on the screen more too, with dramas and movies. If possible I'd also like to play a very bad character...Just imagining it it sounds like it could be really amusing! (lol)"
My Winter pan is with...
My favourite one is with pork meat. I also like chicken but after all pork is the best! I prefer beef meat to be always well cooked. It's kind of an obsession for me (lol). It's one of the reasons why I prefer chicken or pork in a pan.
DIGITAL TV GUIDE 02.2012
"There's a line saying "Do human beings live facing death?", of course this is true but if we think from another point of view it's also different. Lately many things happened, I want to search together with everybody the right way to go towards death from another direction. Anyway it won't be only a dark, gloomy drama. Or better, I'd like to leave an impression different from just that (lol)"
"The first time I knew about this I thought: "What?! A funeral director?!". It's a particular job, honestly it hasn't a good image. Anyway I changed my mind reading the script. A funeral director must accept death and organize a good way to greet life. I felt that it's a necessary and extremely important job. My character will change a lot during the drama. I wish I will be able to play straightly his commitment to the job."
"A satisfying, regrets-free life is simply the best. That's why I want to go on day after day trying to not procrastinate (lol). Talking and working on this drama I wish to find the answer to the title's question: Which is the best way to end a life?"
Ok, they say basically the same stuff XD
