Real Life and not much to it.

A bit of an update.

So first off, got my blood test results back and as I feared, my cholesterol is higher than it was. I need to discuss my options with my doctor because I’d prefer to try another statin other than the one I’m prescribed (serious leg issues). And my liver is still not happy (I have a fatty liver - to go with everything else, I fear). However, everything else was perfect and I once again dodged the diabetes bullet. Yay!

We spoke with Wendy last night. She is our executor and we wanted to make sure we put her on our trust fund correctly. Changes are costly, so we wanted to do it right the first time. That’s when she dropped a bombshell on us. She’s gotten a new job ad double her old salary, paid off all her debts, including a new car, and is getting ready to buy her house. Why? She was being coy, but suggested that it might be that she’s in love. I hope whomever it is, that she is happy. Honestly, I never thought she’d move out from her folk’s home. It’s such great news and I’m so happy for her!

This weekend we are going to head down to Half Moon Bay for a bit of a Valentine getaway. Our last one was 2020, just before the world came apart. I’m excited as it’s a new place for us to visit and to get away for a couple of nights is always a boon. Barb V will be taking care of the guys, so no worries there. Even the weather is cooperating by dropping a few degrees by Monday. I mean, we were nearly 80 yesterday. That’s too hot too soon for us. Today is going to be our last really warm day - it will be a nice night to sit outside and eat (Market Tavern with Barb and Jeff. No peanut butter on my mashed potatoes, please)

Lisa has taken to keeping the little black kitty in. Her appointment is the 24th and hopefully that will go without a hitch. Lisa also announced that she will, in fact, be staying for another year. The few places she found that were nicer/bigger/better than her townhouse had long waiting lists attached. Construction is so slow here right now and houses fly off the market, literally in hours, here. I’m sorry for her, but not unhappy. I like her as a neighbor. She’s clean, quiet and reliable.

Yesterday Titan got a taste of karma. In the morning, he was so mean and aggressive with Pyewacket, that he got stuck in a time out in the bedroom for an hour (not to fear, he has a litter box, water and access to the balcony, so he wasn’t suffering much. After I let him out, he headed outside and about 40 minutes later, he got treed by Terry’s dog, Ozzie. He tried to come down once, but Ozzie saw him and sent him back up again. Finally, Titan made a run for it and Ozzie gave chase. Titan headed under the street fence, towards the street and for a moment my heart was in my throat - that was how we lost Busterfer. I immediately raced to the front door to call him and he immediately dashed from under the truck for the front door, puffed up to twice his usual size. Needless to say, he slept the afternoon away. Poor old bear!

Finally, I have finished with two months of PT and have to decide if it was a success or not. Overall, yes, the leg is much better and I can walk better, but there are still days of pain. I’m not ready for an injection and will try to keep up with my exercise. The hardest part for me is the walking - not that I can’t, but it’s boring. It’s not bad when I’m walking to something (like work or shopping), but just to walk is a struggle Sigh, still walk I must.

Still, I quilt (I am on the third square of nine on the Christmas project) while watching TV. We are enjoying Death in Paradise right now. Makes me want to go someplace tropical. And I’m writing, always writing. :DD

Now you are caught up with my little world.

travel, friends, cats, writing, quilting
