I'm enjoying my new job! It's fun and non-profit, which I like, and(so far)it's pretty easy. Today I got to do an animal adaptations talk in front of 40 first-graders. I'm working on developing new program ideas, so that's really exercising my creativity. I am also honing my skills at making small talk with high school volunteers, which is really one of the more challenging aspects for me.
Brendan and I got to house sit for a professor emeritus for 3 weeks, and they have 4 cats! That made me not need to get a cat quite as desperately.
So, I live 4 blocks from my work, and I have all this free time that I used to spend commuting. It's pretty wonderful. I'm also designing websites on a contract basis, check out
katherinefoldes.comI formatted my 'puter and am working on getting it up to snuff, back the way I like it. We're starting to plan our Thanksgiving trip to Chicago with my folks. We have decided to
couchsurf around the midwest on our weekends this fall, so if anyone has advice on where we should go, let me know.
