Let's do the ... timewarp?

So, I'm writing my essay on Gulliver's Travels at about 6:00 am and yes I am extremely tired and instead of analyzing how Jonathan Swift manages to be an authoritarian dick while providing a lengthy list of reasons Why King George I Sucks A Lot this thought occurred to me:

If Theodore Roosevelt was a movie he would be the eccentric cult classic that people still love to dress up for and quote. Like ... Rocky Horror.

George Washington: Is the first silent film that everyone likes just because it's innovative, new, and people don't have any other standard of comparison.

James K. Polk: The indie movie that people really love, despite the fact it came from nowhere. Little Miss Sunshine?

Franklin Roosevelt: The Hollywood Blockbuster that people just can't get enough of. Like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, or the the original Star Wars.

John F. Kennedy: The first Harry Potter movie. The acting isn't really all that great, but Daniel Radcliffe is little, cute, and in a tragic role so that's forgiven.

Lyndon B. Johnson: Like with Gladiator there are really, really great characters, but the historical accuracy is wanting with LBJ he did really great with social reform but kind of fucked up in the military aspect.

Richard Nixon: The one that everyone really hates, and thinks is awful, but wouldn't be so terrible if people watched the whole thing and not that one really controversial scene.

Jimmy Carter: The movie that everyone is rediscovering now and being like "wow, dude, these are really good points too bad no one took you seriously in your prime." I'm sure there's an example of this, I just don't know it.

Ronald Reagan: The movie that people watch because it's got a lot of Hollywood stars in it so what does technical merit matter?

Bill Clinton: The racy bodice-ripper-made-movie with lots of steamy sex scenes and really isn't so bad if you can see around all the fucking.

The Bush Dynasty George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush: Those movies where the first one isn't bad so they just keep on making sequels and people just want it to end at this point. Like Rocky, or The Land Before Time.

Yes, it is incomplete! Help me! Correct me! I know some of y'all are far, far better with history than I am!

so clever it hurts, +films, feelin' like: wastin' time, +history
