Up and atom! Up and at them!

So I saw Superman last night. It was good, definately a lot of fun. However, despite the funness, there are a few nit pickers i have with the movie. First off, Lois Lane was all wrong. She was too pretty, and we never got to see her "die hard reporter" side. Clark was under-played, so much to the point, where he seemed to really only be in there so we could have scenes with Jimmy Olsen and Perry White (both of whom were played very well in this movie). Also, the whole religious iconatry was a little obvious and over-blown. The other nit-picks I will not divulge because they are spoilers, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone who has yet to go out and see it; but what I will tell you is one of them has something to do with a certain conversation from Mallrats, which I was instantly prone to start talking about as soon as the movie was over. The best part baout the movie, Kevin Spacey. That has to be by far the best interpretation of Lex Luthor I have ever seen. I love Hackman, don't get me wrong, but Spacey totally blew him out of the water in this one. Other good parts, keeping the original main title score AND replicating the credits as they were done for the first two movies back in the 70's and 80's, Brandon Routh's channeling of Christopher Reeve (if you were to just listen to the movie, you would think it was Chris actually doing it), the action was up, thanks in part to special effects, and of course, the Brian Singer touch, which I will not reveal to you, but you should know when you see it.

Then after the movie we wandered around for a bit, and happened to stumble upon a set for a movie we just saw a trailer for right before Superman. Can you guess what it was? SPIDER-MAN 3!!! Sorry, I didn't give you time to guess, it was just so exciting. It was actually something that seemed like an "important" scene, so if you don't want any spoilers, skip down to the next paragraph. The scene being filmed, involved Uncle Ben, the Guy who shot uncle Ben in the first movie, Flint Marco (a.k.a. Sandman), and uncle Ben's Oldsmobile (and it was outside the NY Pulbic Library, where Ben was shot in the first film). There was no sign of Peter Parker, so it couldn't have been a dream sequence, which means it was most likely a flash back. They kept showing Uncle Ben up close with Flint (played by Thomas Hayden Church) and Sam Rami kept yelling "Bang" to represent the gun shot and give the actors an audible cue, and then Uncle Ben would keel over. So I can only gather that what will be revealed in "3" is that Flint Marco was the other criminal's partner, and was the guy who actually shot Uncle Ben, where as the criminal that Spider-Man killed in the first movie, was not the murderer, just the guy who stole the money and the car. Where Flint Marco went after the shooting, is anyones guess. It was incredibly cool to watch the filming, especially since it was "3", one movie I have been anticipating the most since I was anticipating "2", although I would have really liked it if maybe it was a Venom in costume scene, just so I could see Venom in costume already. Oh well, still incredibly cool.

This weekend, well tomorrow to be exact, I am heading up to Monroe for a couple of days, to relax, have fun, and visit my mom, sister, and friends that are still there. It should be fun, and relaxing, and much better then the "nothing" I have planned for this weekend. But because I will be in Monroe, away from all computer contacts, I will not have any updates this week for C-M University. I need to take a week off, maybe in some down time during camp I will get a couple of strips drawn, but if not, that's fine too. I just need a week off to recharge the part of my brain that comes up with that stuff. If I had fan art, I would post that for my readers, but since I don't, I can't. But yeah, jsut to give you a C-M U heads up, no updates for this coming week.

have a happy 4th everyone!

weekend, celebrities, superman, c-m u, spoiler, spider-man
