i went to see the FOB show on 11/2 in alabama and it was sooo amazing! i was prob one of the oldest ppl there, but it was fun pretending to be a teenager again! (a teenage who could legally drink and did)
did i mention that i met them?? yep, i met the boys and they are just so little and sweet and cute - totally precious!
for the meet and greet, the fans are herded around like cattle and the security guards think they are god's gift and are all complete asses but whatev...it all went by so fast and i had no time to say all i wanted to but it still rocked!
they were seated behind a table in a little row - patrick then andy then joe then pete on the end...the guards kept yelling, no hugs!, keep moving!, only allowed one item to be signed!, no photos!, no cell phones! - very aggravating but the boys were so sweet and smiley...when i got to patrick, i couldnt speak, just handed him my paper and he gave me the biggest smile and said hello so i said hi back...his voice is so smooth...i think my friend told him that
she was excited to be here and he said that he was excited to be here too *swoon*...i just smiled at joe and andy as they signed my page cuz i was still in shock and they just returned the smiles...but then i got to pete and i totally regained my ability to speak and it was as if he was one of my oldest friends...i told him i saw him break his foot at voodoo and he got all shy and looked down and said "yeah, that was so stupid." i asked him if he was feeling okay and he said, "yeah, its not that bad."...then i asked him why no one was signing his cast (of course its because the asshole security tools said we couldnt but i didnt care) and he goes "you wanna?" and then he handed me the pen he was using to sign the autographs...i almost lost consciousness but i just grabbed it and started searching for a place to write...he added, "just try to sign on a hard part cuz it kinda hurts." i think i just initialled it in the end and it was black ink on a black boot and the securty guards started shouting and coming after me but it was the coolest shit eva!!!!!!!!!! i dont remember giving the pen back but i guess i did cuz he had to sign the next autograph but i just remember all the security guards started shouting "the boot is off limits! no signing the boot!"...then we got back in line again for the photos...it was 4 fans per photo no matter who you were with, so my friend and i were paired with 2 other girls...the guys just stood there in a line, hands in pockets looking all shy and we had to jump in...the 2 other girls and my friend immediately went for pete (he was on the end) so i just literally jumped in the middle of patrick and andy all hyper-like and patrick gave me the sweetest smile ever, i will never forget his face...i posed with hand gestures and all and stuck my tongue out and prob looked like a big freak but they seemed amused and one of the security guards actually yelled out from the back that he liked my tongue action...i cant wait to see that photo but it hasnt been posted yet...
one thing i have to say is that pete is beautiful...im not sure what i was expecting when i saw him up close but even if i didnt know who he was and i just met him on the street, i would have thought that he had a beautiful face...even my friend, who isnt the biggest fan whatsoever commented on his beauty - i think her actual comment was "so its very possible that he was wearing makeup but that guy is really pretty." (did i mentioned he winked at her after signing her pic?)
the concert was really fun too; the energy was amazing...we started at about 10-15 deep but eventually moved up to about 7 back from the rail...and hello, there were a ton of boys there, i was really surprised...i expected no one but teenaged girls but it was pretty mixed in age and gender...i was buzzed the whole time from drinking before and during the show (there was never a line for beer, wonder why?) and just from the high i got from meeting them...not a fan of the opening acts...i hate that delila song but it was fun to see travis from gym class heros...some 16 year old boy tried to dance with me during their set and then told me i was hot - it was hilarious...
the crowd was manageable for the most part - not really that much pushing and security kept crowd surfing to a minimum...some kids tried to mosh behind me but they are too young to know what real moshing is in my opinion...pete tried to get a huge mosh pit going at some point but it was very tame...not that im complaining - id rather be jumping to the music and watching the stage than be knocked over by people...
the fob set flew by...pete had to behave himself bcuz of his injury but he seemed to concentrate more on playing...patrick holds the whole performance together - he is a force to be reckoned with - the silent leader, which is kind of ironic cuz he sings...joe is full of energy - the real rockstar...andy is so far from the crowd all hidden up there behind the drums - i wish i could have seen him better...and pete is just pete - i love him...he had the leather jacket on for most of the set but left the stage with no shirt on - full view of all tattoos - no i didnt get a pic, sorry...
